MANY SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS SOLD ON-LINE
SecuritySystems.com is managed by the owner of a
professional surveillance company that has been
installing security systems for over 30 years.
Let me be frank. Certainly I want your business
but the true impetus for this text is my
genuine anger focused at all the websites
that masquerade as security stores and flood the
internet with their cheap junk and false claims.
They give the industry I've worked for so long
at a bad name. When you finish reading how I
expose their lies and the junk they sell you'll
be one less consumer they can take advantage of.

Nearly all of
these websites are just warehouses that ship
gadgets or whatever else they can peddle to as
many gullible consumers as possible. They are
not in the security industry, they know nothing
about surveillance cameras or for that matter
even the cheap junk they sell. What they do know
however is that anything they can get their
hands on and present under the 'magic' number of
$99.00 is guaranteed to sell with some
convincing text. I'm qualified to say their
claims about their products are grossly
exaggerated if not outright lies. They are in
fact cashing in on the phenomenal consumer
interest in surveillance products.
In our opinion,
wireless frequency cameras (2.4ghz) that inundate the
internet are nothing but kid's toys. We've
spoken to hundreds of folks that have
innocently got suckered into buying this junk
and they all say basically the same thing. 'I
couldn't get any images' or 'we gave up and sent
it back'. You don't need to join their ranks.
The results you can achieve from these products
are dismal at the very best. These 'security
stores' know the rate of return on these
products is astronomically high but the huge
profits they make far outweigh their returns.
They also know that many folks never return
products even though they are completely
unsatisfied. Further down the page is a
complete explanation of all the pitfalls
associated with all this junk being sold.

The True Details
And Specifics on X-10 Or Other Wireless
Frequency Surveillance Cameras. Reading This
Will Save You Time, Money And Aggravation.
Shown below are several
pictures of so-called hidden surveillance
cameras you'll find while searching the web. At
a quick glance for a lot of folks they look like
a great option. Allow us to give you an in depth
explanation of how they work. First of all many
sites conveniently just show a picture of their
'hidden wireless' camera. Left out in the ad is
the transmitter you'll need with an
obvious antenna that needs to be placed
in an open unobstructed area to send
wireless radio frequency signals from
the camera to a receiver. This receiver also
with an obvious antenna needs to be hard
wired to a VCR or to get
best results to a Digital
Video Recorder. Without being connected
to a VCR or a DVR you will not
have any recorded images at all.
Naturally for most folks
searching for a camera, they see this ad with
just this picture of a 'hidden camera' and say
'this sounds great, No wires, just this
camera? Only 59 bux? Wow! Let me buy this
right now!' '..REALITY: It
arrives and you open the box and hello 'what
are these other things with these
antennas sticking out' Now for your
installation: For starters IF you don't have a
DVR, a halfway decent one starts at
$200.00. More serious reality:
Although they will advertise these
cameras sending images hundreds of feet what
they don't tell you is the ideal
reception requires a direct straight path with
no obstacles in the way. Oh, you have walls
in your house? That's why you have fuzzy or
distorted images, if any at all. Nor will they
mention all the interference from nearly every
electronic household device also using
wireless radio frequency signals,
I.e., cordless telephones, microwave ovens, car
alarms, garage door openers as well as every
remote control used for Tv's and even kids toys.
In many cases all it takes to interrupt the
transmission is someone using a cellular phone
within 300 feet of your home. Here is a test.
Call up any surveillance company and tell
them you are interested in installing wireless
security cameras at your home or business. Their
answer will be in somewhat different variations
of 'we don't install them because they are
not reliable'. Certainly not having to run
'hard wiring' would save consumers and
businesses hundreds if not thousands of dollars.
Of all the thousands of surveillance cameras
installed in the Wal-Marts, Sears, Home Depot's
or any huge chain there is NOT one wireless
Should you purchase one
of these X-10 or other wireless cameras this
will be your scenario;
You first determine the
area ideal for their 'hidden camera'. This
of course is non negotiable as
naturally you need to place the camera where it
will 'see' the subject. The transmitter
with the antenna sticking up can not be
obstructed or hidden. It needs to be in plain
view of the receiver (this picks up the
video frequency transmission) these two devices
can NOT be blocked by walls or furniture
or you'll have just fuzzy images if any at all.
But before you can locate the receiver unit you
have to make sure it's near an outlet because
this NEEDS power. It has a
transformer that needs to be plugged in.
(Some of these wireless cameras use batteries
that will last only a few hours and this is a
fact!) The next step is the VCR or DVR
needs to be directly wired to the receiver.
This means you either run a long wire to
wherever your VCR or DVR is located. (Probably
on top of your TV in another room) or move
it to the room where the receiver needs
to be located to receive any possible signals.
So now you move your TV too?
Here is exactly how
these 'hidden' cameras ideally work. In a large
room with the transmitter and receiver in a
direct visual path, both close enough to an
electrical outlet and the VCR or DVR placed
right next to it. Doesn't seem like its
'hidden' now does it? There goes your well
thought out plans to have a secret camera. They
don't work and all the unsuspecting folks that
buy them find this out! Now you don't
have to be one of them.
Safe Home Covert
are two great units we highly recommend.
Neither of these units uses a wireless
transmitter or a receiver.
They don't require a separate DVR because
it's already built in. There is no wireless
frequency involved in its operation.

that are being sold on the internet by these
